This policy explains how Grand Pools Pty Ltd ("Grand Pools", "we", "us") handles personal information collected through the Grand Pools mobile app and our project-management platform. We are an Australian swimming-pool construction company and we handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Account details - your name, email address and phone number, used to sign you in and to contact you about your project or work.
- Project information - details about pool construction projects, including documents, photos, schedules, quotes and invoices.
- Location (staff and trade users only, optional) - if you turn it on, the app uses your device's location to automatically record when you arrive at and leave our job sites and head office.
- Photos and documents you upload - such as site photos, compliance documents and receipts.
Why we use location
Location is used for one purpose: knowing when our staff and trade contractors enter and leave Grand Pools work sites. This records their site time automatically (replacing manual timesheets) and ensures everyone on site is accounted for and covered by our site insurances. It is not used to follow or track anyone's movements away from our sites: the app only reacts to entering or leaving the specific job-site zones, and location is sent only to Grand Pools' own server. Location sharing is opt-in and can be turned off at any time in your device settings; customers are never asked for location.
How your information is used
- To manage pool construction projects - scheduling, documents, approvals and payments.
- To communicate with you about your project, quote or work.
- To meet our legal, safety and insurance obligations on construction sites.
We do not sell personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and the app contains no advertising or cross-app tracking.
Storage and security
Information is stored on secured cloud infrastructure used to run our platform. Access is restricted by role: customers see only their own project; trade contractors see only the job details they need; financial information is restricted to office staff. Data is encrypted in transit.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email hello@grandpools.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time.
